Joy Anne Williamson

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Joy Anne Williamson, wife, mother, daughter, cousin, aunty, friend and sister passed away peacefully surrounded by family and close friends at 4:27pm, Monday, July 10 in Victoria BC.

Joy was a devoted wife to her husband, Max, a loving mother to her children, Willow and Theodore, a caring sister to her brother Anthony and sister Erica, and wonderful daughter to her mother Ruth and father Alfred. She was a selfless and caring person who always put her family first.

Joy was a passionate and loving person who was always looking for ways to make the world a better place. She brought smiles and positive energy to every event she ever attended and always made every single person feel welcome. She was named very appropriately as she brought Joy into everyone’s lives.

Joy was an avid outdoorswoman who loved to hike, swim, paddle and just be outdoors. She was an adventurous spirit who truly felt at home in nature.

Joy was a kind and generous soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She spent time as a Search and Rescue team member for Juan De Fuca area. She advocated for the BC Health Care Matters group, as she believed everyone needs a family doctor. She was a loyal friend who was always there for her friends and family.

Joy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she left behind.

A memorial Dance Party will be held at the Legion on Quadra Island as per her wishes on Sept 16th, 2023 from 5-9pm.

A Go-Fund-Me account was originally opened to help with Joy’s treatment/recovery. It has raised over $12k and will go directly to her husband Max and their two children to help them moving forward without Joy and with the associated costs of her passing.
