Alex Pircher

Born July 20, 1946. It is with great sadness we announce that Alex died January 2, 2013, from cancer surrounded by his loving family and friends. Alex fought so hard to stay as long as he could for his beloved children. Predeceased by his wife Kathy in 2008, and his parents. Beloved husband, father, brother and uncle leaves to mourn his children Kevin and Melanie, brother Hans (Margaret) in Germany; in-laws Eric and Vera Blake, brothers-in-law, Martin Blake and Rob Bennett, sisters-in-law, Diane Blake and Carolyn Bennett; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Laura (Scott), Sean, Shannon, great nephew Kaden, and great niece, Layla. With his passion for cars, Alex trained at the Mercedes Benz Company in Germany, leading to a successful career as an automotive mechanic and owning his own local auto repair business with his great friend and partner Dave Sutherland. Alex enjoyed camping with his family.He was a kind, compassionate and gentle man. His legacy will live on in his children. Rest in peace, Alex. We love you and will miss you always, but take solace you are now with your beloved Kathy. Special thanks to Drs Sanders Vaughan and Bachynsky and staff at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, especially Alma and Sandhu, BC Cancer Agency, and all his family, friends and co-workers who provided support and comfort in the last few months, especially Cathy and Erik, Julie and Dick and Dave and Angie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Alexs memory to the BC Cancer Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association. There will be a celebration of Alexs life on Saturday, January 19, 2013 , 1:00 p.m.at the Royal Oak Burial Park Chapel. Reception to follow at the Blakes residence, 217 Jamie Place, Langford.
