Allan Kenneth Tweed

d. February 29, 2016

Al was born in Edmonton, Alberta to Joan and Arnold Tweed. Dad was in the Army therefore we travelled to locations including Edmonton, Germany (Al quickly learned "candy" in German) Kingston, Ottawa, and then Victoria.
Al had a great memory that included memorizing equations for electrical components. Whatever job he took on, he always applied 110% to it. Al followed Dad to the Cariboo and worked for BC Forestry at Alex Graham lookout, among others which included recognition for an excellent job as look-out person spotting the most forest fires at one time. He would tell us many stories including a dog he rescued to intimidating weather. Al also worked as an exterior/interior painter and received many compliments for his immaculate work.
Al played the flute and saxophone. He loved children and animals and they knew it, instantly warming up to him. Al really enjoyed being outside, especially along Dallas Rd. with a cool beer and ciggy. Al stayed in touch with his family and friends and taught us, especially in his last days, grace, dignity and courage. One of his great attributes was that he never had a negative word to say about anyone. He brought our family closer because of these gifts to cherish and to make us better human beings. Thank you Al.
We will hold him close to our hearts everyday and forever. We love you so much Al and we send all our love with you on your journey. We will see you again. Love, Mum, Sam, Sue, Terry, Bruce, Ashlee, Devin, Becky, Nick, little Danny, aunties, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Hugs and Kisses. A heartfelt thank you to Hospice, the Cancer Clinic, Jubilee Hospital and the Palliative team for being there for our family 24/7. These people are proof that angels do exist on earth. Thank you also to our friends for being so kind. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Country Rose Pub/592 Ledsham/Colwood on May 14th/2016 at 2pm. We look forward to seeing you.
