Anita Has Danced Away

Anita Rydygier chose to leave this planet on Wednesday April 27, looking out at the ocean from her home in View Royal, attended by her mother, her dearest friend, and her life partner.

Anita was a dancer, artist and friend.  Anita’s energy and joy will be fondly remembered in many hearts and places, as far away as London, Brazil and New Zealand. Her vibrancy attracted all who met her, and this made her an unforgettable character.  Growing up in Chorley, Lancashire, UK, Anita was proud and grateful for her working class roots. Hard work, talent and determination led to a Masters Degree in Textile s Design from the Royal College of Art in London. Creative, and gifted with an eye for detail, Anita could meticulously make anything unforgettably beautiful.

With fierce independence, a strong work ethic and drive, Anita turned her passion into her livelihood , buying unwanted properties and turning them into beautiful homes, enabling her to reach financial independence at an early age.

A free spirit , she embarked on a new chapter, immigrating to Canada in 2001, after meeting her life partner. She continued with her vision in Victoria, making many friends along the way, who will cherish and remember her forever.

Curious, open minded and free thinking, Anita was always seeking answers to difficult questions about mankind’s existence. Anita’s quest for these answers was foremost throughout her life. Despite her unexpected and untimely departure, her brave spirit will guide her as this next adventure begins.
