Audrey Frances Shirley Hallberg

Audrey Francis Shirley Johnson Hallberg, born in Victoria, BC 1938, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2022 at The Hamlets Care Home in Duncan, BC.

She will be fondly remembered by her children, Lyle (Melanie), Laura (Rob), Steven, and Cynthia; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; dearest friends Dorothy, Pammie, Pat and Ruthie. All had an extra special place in her heart.

Mom loved Victoria and often shared stories of growing up in James Bay and Salt Spring Island. She particularly enjoyed all the festivities the city had to offer. Add to that gardening, the beach, music, cooking, crafts, movies, travel and especially socializing! She retired from Victoria General Hospital after many years of service. She enjoyed helping others volunteering at MediLend in Langford as well as acting as a companion for elderly folks. In later years, she loved living at Jesken Aerie, and kept busy socializing with new friends she made with residents and staff.

Her friendly smile, engaging character and incredible will to live will be remembered and admired by all. A heartfelt thank you to The Hamlets Swan staff and Doctor Jackson for their kindness, care and incredible patience working with Audrey. She seemed to get a lot of enjoyment ringing the fire alarm and challenging the staff!
