Audrey Zella Ross (nee Palmer)
- Born in Toronto on August 13, 1933, to Ella (nee Gordon) and Bruce Palmer. Audrey passed away on June 21, 2019 at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, B.C. surrounded by her family and knowing that she is greatly loved. Audrey will be deeply missed by husband, Donald; children, Susan De Stephanis (Walter) and Steven Ross (Debbie); grandchildren Christine, Darrin, Cheri, Mark and Shannon; great grandchildren Ben and Brooke, and brother Jim Palmer.
Audrey fought cancer valiantly for the past three months. We are in awe of her courage. Sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses and HCAs of RJH 8 South for their compassion and care.
Audrey above all loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, hosting get-togethers, cooking, going for walks, and sewing.
Audrey grew up on Ashdale Avenue in Toronto. She lived in Weston and Georgetown after getting married. Don and Audrey raised their family in Malton, then lived in Victoria (1983-85), Winnipeg (1985-90) and Brampton (1990-2001), and Victoria (2002-present). Audrey worked at North American Life & Avro (1950s), Globe & Mail (1960s) and Orenda (1960s & 70s).
