Jane was born on December 5, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was one of six children in her family and is survived by her siblings Jeanette, Mary, Donna, Larry and Bill. Later in life, she married Ted Sheaff and had two children, Chris and Tim. Originally living in Ontario, they moved to Victoria, British Columbia, in 1988 where Jane has lived since. In 2008, Jane became a grandmother with the birth of her grandson, Phoenix, and later once again in 2015 with her granddaughter, Nola. She cherished her relationship with her grandchildren.
Jane spent some years of her younger adult life as a flight attendant. She spent time traveling and seeing places around the world. Between 1984 to 1991, she held the role of Vice President of Microlife Incorporated. In the mid 1990’s, she began working at Seniors Serving Seniors, an organization for which she worked for over 20 years, the majority of which as Executive Director. In 2019, she began work with Family Caregivers of BC.
Jane made many connections and friends over the years and touched so many peoples’ lives. She had an amazing grace about her along with a huge caring heart. We are in awe of her neverending courage and optimism in her battle against cancer. Her resiliency is inspirational. We love you and will always miss you more than words can explain.
A celebration of life in her honour will be held in Victoria on December 10, 2022. For further details, please call Tim at 250-361-7731 or Alanna at 250-818-6027.
