Brenda Hoogeveen (nee Brenda McAllister Boyd)

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Hoogeveen on May 25, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on July 31, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Barbara and Kenneth Boyd. Throughout her life, she was known for her creativity, style, and artistic talents. She had a special gift for creating beautiful flower arrangements and was always crafting something unique. Her keen eye for design and appreciation for beauty was evident in everything she did, from decorating her home to helping others bring elegance and charm to their surroundings.

Later in life, she retired to Vancouver Island, where she enjoyed the natural beauty of the West Coast and to be close to her mother Barbara and her Auntie Anna.

She leaves behind her 3 children; Kathy Reynolds (Brad) Stephen and David (Erica), four beautiful grandchildren; Lauren, Julia, Ada and Nico as well as one adorable great-grandson, Weston.

Thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Victoria General Hospital for their compassionate care and to her dear friend Renee for her support and kindness. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life.
