Brent James Walker 1951-2020
Brent was born in New Carlisle, Quebec on the Gaspe Peninsula, the place he loved dearly.
He would light up as he shared memories of riding his bike down to the beach and bringing home buckets of fish, and of starting his own lawn mowing business at the age of 8 or 9. Other businesses that he owned in those years were snow clearing of walkways and driveways, collecting bottles and selling hockey pools!
He was a true entrepreneur from the time he was young until he passed from this world.
Brent was diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer Oct. 2019. He passed Sept.4 2020 following chemo, radiation and surgery.
Brent was a Master Carpenter and owner of Deckadence Inc. until he sold it to his stepson, Aaron Johnson. He then became an owner of Island Skies Inc.
During his time with these companies, he transformed many homes and outdoor living spaces into places of beauty and serenity. He loved to create and did so with excellence and passion.
Brent showed up in this world full of love and light. He knew how to put a smile on the faces of those near and distant and a laugh in our bellies! He continues to bring us joy and laughter as we share memories of him.
He is pre-deceased by his mother, Loretta, his father, Thomas Walker, his brothers, Dean, Harold and Barry and his beloved Black Labs, Mister and Hopey.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene, and devoted sons, Lenny (Sharmen), grand-daughter, Kayla and Brent Jr. (Jodi), grand-daughter Farah, and grand-son Brayden. He is fondly remembered by his two sisters, six brothers and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Brent will always live large in our hearts. He is truly an Amazing, Wonderful person who has touched us deeply and will never be forgotten. Until we meet again…We love you so!
