Charles Lemery

Charles passed away peacefully after a long illness. In his last days, he was surrounded by the love of family and friends. He passed with his loving wife Ann and his dear children Lyra and Tyler at his side.
His love for his profession, his students, his family and his friends was evident with the number of visitors to his bedside. His love of music kept everyone connected.
He is survived by his wife Ann, his daughter Lyra and Adam MacLean and their children Lochlan, Kingston and Torin, his son Tyler and Brittany, his mother Marguerite, his brother Tom and Julie, his sister Sally Hysop, her daughter Gretchen and Atli Crane and their children Maryn and Teagan.
His long career at Vancouver Island University started on August 1, 1991, from which he retired on July 31, 2014. His love of teaching, of psychology, of ideas was well communicated to his students.
His love of food and cooking were the stuff of family stories, along with his fishing expeditions and his love of jazz.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date; watch here for that announcement.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vancouver Island University Foundation (900 Fifth St., Nanaimo, BC V9R 5S5) for a scholarship in Charles name.
