Colin Mcdiarmid

Dr. Gordon Colin McDiarmid (Colin) passed away on Nov. 4th. He was born on July 22, 1931, the first son of Ralph Gordon McDiarmid and Rae Maltby Verrill. Colin loved the outdoors and was a proud member of the Varsity Outdoor Club at UBC. He earned his PhD in Experimental Pyschology in 1962. He enjoyed art, music, movies, museums and aquariums. Colin McDiarmid was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Neil. He is survived by his wife, Carol, their children, Cayla and Trevor Naumann, his prior children, Mark, Mickey, Duane, and Caitlin McDiarmid, his grandchildren, Joseph, Daniel, Julia, Fisher Rae, and Arlo Wren, his great-granddaughter, Audrey, and his sister, Glenyss Storm. A reception for friends and family will be held at the Horticulture Center of the Pacific Glendale Gardens from 3pm 6pm on Nov 28th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. St. Marys Foundation; Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society; The National Public Radio or the Sierra Club. The family extends their gratitude for the loving care for Colin at Mount St, Marys Hospital.
