Nina (Cornelia) Maud Sargent, a beloved mother, wife, and friend, passed away on January 20, 2024, in Victoria, BC, Canada. She was born on May 20, 1930, in Crowborough, Sussex, United Kingdom. Nina was a cherished daughter, devoted wife, and loving mother, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be forever remembered.
Nina's life was filled with joy and love, she adored dancing as a youngster and had a passion for making others feel beautiful as a talented hairdresser. But Nina found her greatest happiness in the company of her family, happily married to Bernard, and mother of Lesley, the sunshine of her life
Nina is survived by her daughter, Lesley, her former son-in-law Martin Langfield (the son she never had), her stepdaughter, Clare Sargent, and her stepson, Paul Sargent. She was a pillar of strength and love for her family, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
From the bottom of her heart, Lesley would like to express her heartfelt gratitude to Carol Fabri, Sue and Arthur Goss, Martin MacGregor, Clare Sargent and Randy Barbaro for their unwavering care and support of Nina during her final days. Their compassion and dedication brought comfort and solace to Nina and her family during a difficult time.
In honor of Nina's memory, her family kindly requests that donations be made in her name to the Scleroderma Association BC (scleroderma.ca), the Huntington's Society (huntingtonsociety.ca), or the Red Cross (redcross.ca). These organizations were close to Nina's heart, and supporting them is a meaningful way to honor her life and the causes she held dear.
Nina's presence brought warmth and love to all who knew her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and light she brought into the world.
