It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Craig Steven Goudreau on January 5, 2023, at 12:04am. On March 2, 2022, he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.

Craig was born and raised in Prince Rupert, BC, survived by wife Sherine and their beautiful daughter Lindsay, parents Chris (Anita), Siblings; Dewayne Bird, Reece (Teresa), Kitty (Alana), Nephews; as well as many family members and friends.

While growing up, on the weekends Craig and his family would go out along the Skeena for barbeques, he loved going out on the boat fishing with his grandpa George. Craig loved to play all kinds of sports like karate, baseball, street hockey with the kids on 5th East, played a goalie for the Rupert Soccer Youth League, till he found his calling, which lead him to boxing, he was an excellent boxer that he was almost Olympic potential.

Craig and I first started going out on May 22, 1990, he wooed me over with all his boxing medals. We had over 32 years together. Craig was a very hard worker, he done all sorts of work throughout his life such as fishing, longshore worker, roofing, construction, and most of all he was an excellent father and husband. Craig has been in the insulation industry for over 20yrs, he first started out with Insulpro Insulations Inc. to Alpine Insulations Ltd., Craig loved his job and immensely proud of his work. He was going to be the next Master sprayer in BC. Craig was taught by the best from Kelly Hunter, who Craig thought of as another father and best friend to him.

On April 4, 2022, Craig was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer that spread throughout his entire body. Craig fought an extremely aggressive cancer close to a year and on November 16, 2022, we were advised his life expectancy would only be a few months.

We would like to thank the oncologist Dr. Vergidis that cared for Craig, the specialists, the doctors and nurses & staff at the BC Cancer Victoria, the doctors and nurses from the Esquimalt Westshore Health Unit and a very special thank you to Craig’s social worker; Jenny Spring, the Victoria Hospice, and the Palliative Care Unit at the Royal Jubilee Hospital for their compassionate care. Thanks to all our family and friends for your continued love and support.

A celebration of life to be determined later in Prince Rupert, BC in the spring of 2023. As per Craig’s request he wanted to be cremated.
