Cynthia Louise Sarah Lou-Ellen Fairbrass, born on August 3, 1953 in Peterborough, passed away on November 24, 2024 at Victoria Hospice.
She was the beloved daughter of Marylou Spencer (nee Mackie) and Bill Davis, and devoted sister to Lisa, Quinn, and Jason. Sarah was mother to Rebecca, Chelsea, and Aaron (pre-deceased), and grandmother to Christian, Bailey, and Erroh. She enjoyed great-grandchildren Piper and Easton, and her loyal rescued companions, Lexie, Maisie, and Nella.
Sarah's life was one of compassion and dedication. She began her career with the municipality of North Saanich in 1997, where she quickly became involved in the union. Her passion for advocating for the rights of her colleagues led her to take a seat on the executive board, where she remained active for over 25 years. Through this work, she built lifelong friendships and left an indelible mark on the community.
Beyond her professional life, Sarah was a beacon of kindness and generosity. She dedicated herself to the cause of reuniting lost pets with their owners through her involvement with ROAM. She spent countless hours crocheting warm hats for the homeless and creating cozy cat mats to support various dog rescues.
Her selfless acts of kindness touched the lives of many, both human and animal alike. Sarah's impact on the world around her was immeasurable, and her absence will be deeply felt.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on January 25, 2025, in the Garry Oak Room at the Monterey Recreation Centre in Oak Bay, Victoria. In honor of Sarah's memory, her family kindly requests that donations be made to any of the pet rescues that were dear to her heart, including the Victoria Bulldog Society, Elder Dog, and Mex-Can Pet Partners, in lieu of flowers.
Sarah's legacy of compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
