Quayle, David Charles
April 27, 1947 – November 22, 2022
Born in Victoria BC, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family.
Dave was everybody’s friend. His fishing and hunting stories could be heard at every family gathering and with the gang at the Outdoorsman’s club. He was known for saying “tight lines.”
Dave grew up in Saanich and worked at a variety of local jobs. He retired as a Boiler Engineer from the Royal Jubilee Hospital.
In retirement he enjoyed being Poppa/Grandpa and spending his days with his wife in the garden. He grew the best potatoes and veggies; Murphy their pup was always by their side.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Donna, his children Dan (Kathleen) and Maria. Stepchildren Kathy Penman, Holly (James) Carmichael and Wendy Penman. Brother Jim (Noni), nephew Mike (Maddie, Liam), 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren all of which he cherished deeply.
Predeceased by his parents Rita and Charlie, his sister Sylvia and his little angel in heaven.
The family would like to share their sincere thanks for the care and support provided to Dave by the Palliative Care team and the nurses and Drs on the fourth floor of Victoria General. At the family’s request there will not be a service. A celebration of life will be planned for in the Spring.
