Dawn Angela Wood

January 4, 1943 — June 4, 2023

With sadness in our hearts we announce that Dawn Angela Wood passed away peacefully at Royal Jubilee Hospital on Sunday, June 4, 2023.

Born in Ellesmere Port England on January 4, 1943, Dawn spent all of her adult life in British Columbia. Dawn is survived by her spouse Colin, her brothers John(Margaret), Bill(Beryl) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her favourite brother Cy(Iola).

Dawn worked most of her life as a medical technician at both RJH and VGH until retirement, a job she loved so much that she continued to work in a casual capacity until almost 70 and truly was the Grand Dame of the Lab. Dawn met many of her closest friends through her work and those friends were very dear to her. Words used to describe Dawn are kind, respectful, supportive and respected; she was "always looking after the underdog". She was interested in other people's lives and experiences and made time to really listen, because people mattered. She was always up for a good laugh, particularly with a glass of wine, preferably bubbly.

Time spent with friends, family and horses made her life enjoyable and memorable. Dawn was a bright light in the lives of her many friends, and her family. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, kind and determined nature, and will be missed by everyone she touched. Please visit www.earthsoption.com to leave a condolence message or relate a personal story about Dawn.

Dawn had a special place in her heart for all animals so in lieu of flowers or cards please make a donation in Dawn's name to your local humane society or the SPCA.
