GAIT, DIANE Di LYNN November 7, 1945 January 14, 2015 After courageously battling breast and bone cancer for almost three years, our beautiful mother has gone home to be with her Lord and Heavenly Father. Diane passed away in perfect peace in the care of Victoria Hospice on January 14, 2015. Diane has joined her dad Glynn Adams and is survived by her mother Gladys, her sister Heather (Trevor) Tyler, daughters Christine (Kevin), Tammy (Kurt), son Ken, former spouse Jim, and grandchildren Elise, Isaiah, Victoria and Adam. In addition, many relatives and close friends from near and far are deeply saddened by moms passing. Diane will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones and by all who came in contact with her; everyone was special to her and many who came in contact were heard to say to us, your mom is so sweet. Mom will always be remembered for her selfless love, her gentle nature and her tremendous humility. No matter what trials she faced, she greeted all with a loving and kind heart, and a sweet smile. Generous to a fault, she was the first to serve others and the last to stay loyal. This determination to care for those she loved never waivered as she fought so bravely against the disease that invaded her body. We are immensely thankful to the numerous doctors, nurses, care aides, volunteers and so many others that we met on this journey. Mom was blessed with the best of care and nurses Shirley, Lynne and Kelly, you were angels watching over us for over a week and we love you along with all of the doctors, nurses and staff/volunteers at Hospice and at the Canadian Cancer Society. Mom gave us firm orders to remember her life with joy not sadness and to be happy for her that she has gone to a better place. A celebration of her life will take place at Saanich Baptist Church on Saturday, February 14th, 2 - 4 pm. Click above on service schedule for directions. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Victoria Hospice Society will be welcomed in recognition of the beautiful last days and tender care they gave mom so that others may continue to receive this intimate and wonderful support. We are saddened and we will miss you terribly mom but we say see you in awhile and we are so happy for you that you are finally at home with your loving Saviour, Jesus Christ. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33 (NIV)
