Diane Catherine Roberts passed away peacefully at home in Victoria at the age of 67
surrounded by her loving family and friends on May 2, 2024. Diane was born in Edmonton, AB,
and spent her early years in Edmonton and Calgary. She studied at the University of Victoria
and completed her LLB at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto where she began practicing law.
Upon her return to Victoria in 2000, Diane found immense fulfillment in her work at the Legal
Services Branch of the Ministry of Attorney General where she wholeheartedly dedicated
the next two decades of her life. During this time she completed a master’s degree in Constitutional Law from the University of Toronto.
Diane was an avid lifelong learner. She enjoyed conversation and was an attentive and
empathetic listener. Her compassion, inquisitive mind, grace and gratitude were evident to the
many people whose lives she touched deeply. She was a long-term student and teacher of yoga. She inspired and encouraged many around her with her intuitive, creative and devotional practice. Her primary commitment was to the evolution of consciousness and to living a life of awareness and truthfulness.
Diane was predeceased by her parents Eletha and Evan Roberts of Calgary, AB. She is survived
by her six siblings Larry Roberts of Quinte West, ON, Pat (Ted) Hart of Okotoks, AB , Brian Roberts (Cathy Simpson) of Vancouver, BC, Garth (Karen) Roberts of White Rock, BC, Roger Roberts (Simon Burt) of London, UK, and Susan Roberts of Calgary, AB. She also leaves behind six nieces and nephews. Grant Roberts of Quinte West, ON, Melissa Hart of Minnedosa, MB, Geoff Hart of Vancouver, Leah Crawford of Crofton, BC, Reid Cooper of Brandon, MB, and Caitlin Roberts of London, UK. Her absence will be deeply felt by her family and many devoted friends, a testament to the profound impact she had on their lives.
A graveside gathering will be held at Royal Oak Burial Park on Tuesday, May 7 at 1:00.
A reception will be held afterward at Diane’s home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity that is doing work in the world that is important to you.
