Douglas Richard Lopeter

Born in Victoria, BC on November 12, 1955, Doug grew up in Oak Bay attending Willows and Oak Bay High and playing baseball and football on local teams. Doug was owner/operator of Lopeter Trucking which he founded in 1976. He truly enjoyed his work, and for many years held the Oak Bay Municipal contract. Doug also held contracts for Saanich and the CRD Water Dept.
Sadly, Doug caught an infection in December and passed away on January 17, 2019.
Doug was a loving and supportive father to his children Michele and Louise Richter (Steffen) as well as a proud Grandad to Stacy. He looked forward to visits from family and we will cherish our memories together.
Doug was predeceased by his mother, Joan, and is survived by his father, Richard and siblings David and Linda Carey (Doug and family).  Doug will be greatly missed by his family; long-time friend and business partner, Ann; and many friends and coworkers.
A celebration of life will be held at the Britannia Legion 780 Summit Ave, on Saturday, February 2 ^nd from 2pm - 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may kindly be made to the Kiwanis Club of Oak Bay.
