Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on April 29, 2018 at the age of 90.
Earl was born on August 2 nd , 1927 to Jane Anne (Simpson) and Daniel James Morgan.  He was born in the shingled house with two chimneys at the corner of Baden Powell and 4 th Avenue in Ladysmith, B.C.
Jane Anne Simpson was born in Annefield Plain in County Duram, England in 1898 and immigrated to Canada as a child. Daniel James Morgan was born in Wellington, B.C. to parents Richard Morgan and Margaret Anne Thomas. Jane and Daniel had two children; Darrel Richard, who was born on March 23 rd , 1925 and Earl Edward, who was born on August 2 nd , 1927.
Earl grew up in Ladysmith, B.C. and worked at the local bakery as a teenager. In his youth he enjoyed riding his bike, listening to "The Shadow" and berry picking. As a young man he worked in logging camps on Vancouver Island and the Queen Charlotte Islands.
Gertrude Paul was a fishing guide in Cowichan Bay and lived with Jeannie Stewart who introduced her to Earl when he began working for Ocean Cement. They were married on February 15 th , 1958 in Victoria.
Earl will be remembered as a kind and loving family man with a great sense of humour who loved gardening, fishing in the "Daddy Do", camping, road trips and swimming in the backyard pool. He was pre-deceased by Gertrude and is survived by his brother Darrell, three children Anne (Jamie), Scott (Shauna - lovingly known as "Shauna Marie") and Jane (Chris); and two grandchildren Liam and Julia.
He will be missed by his family and his grand-dog Cairo.
