Earl Graham Reid

Earl Graham Reid passed away on January 13 at Victoria Hospice following an all too brief illness.
He is survived by his wife Dolores (Lapierre); his three children, Earl Jr (Yoona), Paul (Sara), and Anne; 2 grandchildren, Sam and Saul; and 3 siblings, Ken, Marjory (Carpenter), and Joan (Baranieski). Originally from the Timmins, Ontario area, Earl Sr. moved to Sudbury, Ontario where he met his wife, Dolores, and charmed his way into a French-Canadian family. After moving down to Windsor, Ontario, they started working on a family of their own. After retirement, he moved out to Victoria. Earl Sr. led a life of quiet, but resolute, dignity, perseverance, compassion, and mostly humour. A man of few words, Earl Sr was the model 'good people' for his children and someone whom everybody loved. His hobbies included word searches, carpentry, and puttering about the garage.
In lieu of visitation and services, his family will fire up his barbeque on January 22 starting at noon and celebrate his life the way he would like at his home in Victoria; if you are in the area, please drop by when you can for a beer and a burger (or whatever else flips your switch). Memorial gifts in honour of Earl Sr can be made to Victoria Hospice, the Victoria Red Cross, or your local ambulatory service.
