Edgar Russell Gibbons

A very gentle, kind and compassionate soul has left us. Ed Gibbons passed away quietly at Broadmead Veteran’s Lodge in Victoria on December 5, 2022.

Ed is survived by family that he adored – his wife of 66 years, Raemila; children – Annette, David and Carol; his beloved granddaughter, Tanika MacKinnon (Alastair) and cherished great grandchildren, Addison and Isla.

Ed was an optimistic and generous man. He cared deeply for people and was at his happiest surrounded by friends, family and laughter. If someone needed something, he was the first to try to find a way to provide it!

Ed was deeply connected to and cared for many animals. In the most recent years, Bella and Samson found places in his heart.

He will long be known for his love of puns and dad jokes (aka “Edgar’s Groaners”)!

Ed had an incredibly strong will to live but can rest easy now. He is, and has been, much loved and will be missed profoundly.
