In Loving memory of Edward "Ed" Christian Hvarregaard
March 4, 1936 to August 11, 2018
Victoria, BC
Passed away at 82 years of age
Ed was born to Danish immigrant homesteaders living in Northern Alberta. He joined the RCAF at an early age and served as a leading Aircraftsman. During his time in the Service he was posted in several places some include Germany, Halifax and Churchill Manitoba. He then spent time on the DEW Line. He also owned a couple of apartment buildings retiring when he sold his last one in Victoria.
He met and married Isabel (Liza) Boyd
Ed and Liza had 3 children Analisa, Christopher and Andrew. After they went their separate ways, Ed met Mary Goodspeed. Ed and Mary spent close to 40 years together living in Victoria.
Ed was active in the Royal Canadian Legion. He loved to tinker. And worked in a little shop in the condo on Fairfield Road and fixed anything that might be broken and improving on designs using his natural aptitude and mechanical abilities. Some interesting items Ed made were a nutcracker that fit on his favourite chair, an all-in-one golf club and a still made from soda fountain syrup canisters. He loved to yard sale and junk sale, and would often bring home treasures for his family and friends. Ed also possessed a clever wit often entertaining us with his life stories.
Ed was predeceased by his sister Edna Alvina Struik (nee Hardonk) and is survived by his brother Richard Hvarregaard.
8 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Ed lived a full life, was dedicated to his family and was active until he died suddenly in his sleep due to heart failure. We love and miss him dearly.
