Elfriede Dorothea Juergensen died peacefully on March 5, 2021 at Sidney Care Home.
Elfriede would have been 88 on May 1, 2021. She is survived by her husband, Henry Juergensen, daughters Birgit Juergensen and Christina Grey-Dreaper, sons Peter Sven Juergensen and Olaf Henry Juergensen. She is predeceased by daughter Suzanne Andrea Painting. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jaden Painting, Isabel Juergensen, Tomas Juergensen, Duncan Grey-Dreaper, Erica Grey-Dreaper and Astra Crompton. She is survived by her sisters, Ingrid Grob and Margrit Schwarz as well as brother, Jurgen Schwarz. Elfriede immigrated to Canada with her husband and daughter in 1957. Peter was born soon after and then the family moved from Toronto to Winnipeg where the next three children were born. While raising five children she held various jobs, became a union rep and even found time to coach ringette. Elfriede spent many summers with the family at Victoria Beach on Lake Winnipeg in the cottage that Henry built. In 1979 Elfriede and Henry moved the family to Victoria. Elfriede was given recognition for the success of her business, Colwood House of Nutrition. The business grew to two locations with the addition of House of Nutrition in Fairfield. Throughout the years her business supported many local initiatives. Elfriede loved to travel. ln her lifetime she visited many places around the world. Elfriede and Henry also loved to go on cruises. In the winter months they joined the "Snow Birds" and headed to South Padre Island, Texas, in their motor home. Elfriede will be missed by many.
Due to COVID the family will have a private internment. There will be a Celebration of Life at a future date. In lieu of flowers you are invited to make a donation to The Anthroposophical Society in Canada, Inc. by clicking on donations in the left menu.
