Esther Justina Hart, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 16, 2024, in Victoria, BC, surrounded by love. Born in Steinbach, Manitoba, on January 26, 1948, Esther's life was a testament to resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Esther leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her daughters, Michaela and Lori, and her adopted daughter, Josée. She was a cherished grandmother to Emma, Callum, Rebecca, James, and Dae. Esther's impact on her family was immeasurable, and her memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives she touched.

Throughout her life, Esther's unwavering spirit and determination led her on a journey across the vast Canadian landscape. From Manitoba to Ontario, Saskatchewan, and finally settling in Victoria, she embraced each new chapter with grace and resilience. Her adventurous spirit and love for exploration were evident in the way she embraced new experiences and communities.

Esther's professional endeavors were marked by her passion for the arts, education, and community service. She made significant contributions to organizations such as the Regina Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Opera Victoria, the University of Victoria, the Church of Truth, and the Professional Editors Association of Vancouver Island. Her dedication and hard work helped these organizations flourish, leaving a lasting impact on the communities they served.

Those who knew Esther were touched by her creative inspiration, integrity, and boundless generosity. She lived her life with unwavering conviction, fearlessly following her own path and inspiring others to do the same. Her mindfulness and courage in the face of adversity were a source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In her final days, Esther was supported by her dearest friends and her Victoria family, Susan Blackwood and Inger Hansen. Their unwavering love and support provided comfort and solace during her time of need. Additionally, the family extends deep thanks to the caring individuals at Richmond Pavilion Palliative Care, where Esther spent her final week of life.

Esther's passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. Her memory will be cherished and her legacy will endure through the countless lives she touched. She was interred at Hatley Memorial Garden on June 23, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
