Evelyn June Stromkins

STROMKINS, EVELYN JUNE June 20, 1927 - April 14, 2016 On a lovely spring morning, Evelyn peacefully left this world to reunite with Paul and continue together for always. Born in Victoria to Robert and Mary Roberts, in youth she found joy in drawing, singing, horseback riding and reading. Married to Paul in 1952, their union was long, loving and full of laughter and she was the kindest, most patient of mothers. Times spent in Palm Springs, Hornby Island and Lands End Road with much loved family and friends were cherished.
Though sight, health and memory slipped from her, Evelyn's special gift of caring deeply for others, sense of humour and ability to spread love only grew with time. She possessed a courage beyond belief. Predeceased by her parents, husband and brother Andrew. Survived by children Kathy (Al) and Gordon (Helen), sister Vivian, brother Gordon (Connie), sisters-in-law Kay and Grace, cousin Hazel, many nephews and nieces. The final years of her life, Evelyn's family expanded to include the caring staff at Selkirk Place and her dear companions from Home Instead Senior Care. The family is so grateful for all you did for Evelyn. Family gathering to be held at a later date.
