Freda Helen Woodworth (nee MacCallum) was born in Kincaid Saskatchewan on January 31, 1919. She passed away peacefully with her family around her on April 11, 2015 at the age of 96. In 1942, Freda married Hugh MacCallum Woodworth, who predeceased her in 1978. Freda leaves her three children, Elizabeth, Sabra, and Garth, her grandchildren Jim, David and grand-stepson, John, their mother Moonhee, and her sister Donna Maloney in Pullman, Washington. Strong influences in Freda's life were growing up in Gleichen, Alberta during the Great Depression, and the life-experiences and friends she gained from her long career as a nurse at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria BC. After retirement in 1975, her life broadened to include extensive travel, and many hours mastering the intricacies of Japanese silk embroidery. Freda's many recreational interests included birding, gardening, opera, reading, and appreciating nature. Her lifelong talent was looking for, and always finding, the best in the people she met. She enjoyed her final few years at the Cedars on Cedar Hill Road in Victoria, always grateful for the loving care by her caregivers and regular visits by her longtime friends. All enjoyed engaging Freda's alert mind and learning of her remarkable life. A celebration of Freda's life will soon be announced.
