Fredi Emil Stein

Fred passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 14, 2015. He is loved, remembered and survived by his wife Irene of 61 years, children Rudi (Renea) Fredi (Dana) Vicki (Shane) Ron (Emmy) Reni (Bart) and 10 grandchildren, Mathew, Jason, Tyler, Sheldon, Jared, Sawyer, Abby, McKenna, Rebeka and Morgan. Fred immigrated from Germany in 1954 and moved to Victoria where he was a home builder for 50 years. Fred enjoyed spending time at his summer home on Shawnigan Lake water skiing, fishing and relaxing in the sun. Fred was involved in the Vancouver Island Soccer League for many years as a player, coach and referee. Fred was past President of the Victoria Edelweiss Club where he and Irene loved to dance. For the past 23 years, Fred was co-owner of Mayfair Flower Shop with his wife Irene.
Fred was a great man and will be deeply missed by his family and everyone who knew him; he will always be in our hearts. A celebration of Fred's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association.
