G. Michael Bonnor, partner, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
friend and scientist, passed away suddenly due to heart complications. Born

under the loving care of their mother, Elsbeth. Michael moved to Canada to
study forestry at the University of Toronto where he met and married Darralyn
Phelan. They had four sons: Michael, Neal, Eric and Brian. The family enjoyed
decades of worldwide adventure. He obtained a PhD in Forestry in 1970 and
worked as a research scientist for the federal government in Ontario and
British Columbia. After retirement, Michael continued to pursue an active life
on the west coast. He was a member of the Catalina Club, the Woodturning
Guild, CCCTS cycling club and the Cadboro Bay Senior Centre. With his
partner Cornelia he enjoyed cycling, hiking and years of travel.
Michael is survived by his brother Thomas, a loving partner, four sons and
their mother, as well as their families, including ten grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held on June 15, 2024 at
