Gerald George Sage (Gerry)

August 26, 1925 — April 3, 2022

It is with much sadness that we say goodbye to our loving father, Papa and Great Papa.

Gerry was born in Canwood, Saskatchewan to Mary and Roy Sage.  He spent his childhood in Shell Lake Saskatchewan with his siblings, Roy, Connie and Doreen.

He was a WWII veteran serving in the Airforce and the Army.  He spent 25 years in the RCMP in Manitoba.  During this time, he met Sandra Ann Laktin in Flin Flon Manitoba and they married.  Ann pre-deceased him in 2017.  In 1970 when he retired from the RCMP he moved his family to Victoria, BC.  In Victoria he spent 15 years working in Corrections BC before retiring a second time.

Gerry’s passions in life were flying airplanes, one of which he built.  After retiring from Corrections BC he pursued his hobby of collecting and restoring cars.  Along with Ann they belonged to the Chrysler Car Club, Vintage Car Club, The Old English Car Club and others.  Gerry and Ann spent many enjoyable years going to car swap meets, corn roasts, going on car runs etc.  Gerry was also involved in the Gordon United Church as an Elder for many decades.

Gerry is survived by his children, Lance, Daryl (Gayle), Curtis (Maree), Ryl (Darryl).  His Grandchildren, Erika Harris and Shane Alexander Sage and his Great Grandchildren, Sage Webb and Griffin Webb.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Summit, Eagle House in Victoria, where Gerry resided, for their excellent care and compassion in Dads final days.
