Grace Dafoe

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our precious sister Grace on May 19th, 2014. Born May 31st, 1931, Grace was predeceased by her parents Clayton and Gladys and sisters Isla Jean and Ruth. Also predeceased by cousins Don Dafoe and nephew Darryl Dafoe. Born at Spy hill, Saskatchewan, Grace began her long career in her late teens as a study supervisor in rural schools, then in photography in Saskatoon, moving on to television with CFQC Saskatoon, CFCN Calgary, and CFTO Toronto. She rose through the ranks in television with many roles including Production Manager and coverage of several Olympics. She was a long time and devoted volunteer with the MS Society following retirement. She moved to Ft. McMurray as Manager of a cable TV company, a role she fulfilled with her usual extraordinary competence for many years. To all who had the privilege to know Grace, she was the very definition of unselfishness. generosity, thoughtfulness and caring. She is survived by sisters Eunice McGowan( Terry), Shirley Adam, brother Bob Dafoe( Dorothy), nieces Susan DIorio (Andre), Maureen McGowan, Catherine McGowan, nephews Tim McGowan(Kate), Larry Dafoe and David Adam, grandnieces Catherine DIorio and Lauren Adam, Grandnephews Drayden Dafoe, Duncan McGowan, Callum McGowan, Felix DIorio and David Adam. Also survived by cousins Bettylou Simpson( Bob), Dorothy Robinson(Robbie), Pat Rowland (Bill-deceased), Bev Bellefontaine ( Brian), Joy Everall, Linda Graham, Ken Graham (Sherry), Bruce Morrison ( Leslie), their children and grandchildren and by her very special uncle Arnold (age 95). Friends and relatives are invited to gather to remember our Amazing Grace on May 24th at Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort, Pacific Room-2pm to 5pm and in eastern Canada in early June- time and location to be announced.
