Howard Richard Bruce Huggins (Bruce)

Born December 6, 1946 in Nanaimo BC to Lorraine and Tracey Huggins.

Sadly, after a five-year battle with cancer Bruce passed away on February 19, 2025, at the age of 78. He was in the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria BC surrounded by friends and many family members.

Bruce was predeceased by his wife Patricia Huggins in Feb 2024, and they were married for 56 years. They enjoyed a long, fulfilling life together that included so many adventures and even more laughs.

Bruce had two sibling and was predeceased by his older sister Madonna and survived by younger sister Juanita (Nina).

Bruce spent his younger years between Gabriola, Duncan and Nanaimo, then moved up Campbell River way. His early teenage years were spent in logging camps and Bruce speaks fondly of those years, and I think this is when he developed his love of nature and fishing.

Trish and Bruce raised a house full of kids and enjoyed activities like camping, fishing and skiing while creating wonderful memories for all.

Besides spending time with his family, Bruce loved a good conversation, a challenging project, and a great game of poker. Bruce could tell a story like no one else.

He has left a big hole in our hearts, and he will be forever missed.
