April.30 1957 - July. 28 2026
Iain Peter Anthony, 69, of Victoria BC passed peacefully in the early hours of July 28th. His final days were spent surrounded by love, in the arms of family.
He was born on April.30th, 1957 and adopted by Ron Anthony Sr. and Mary Taylor in Winnipeg.
Iain is survived by his children, Monica (Jamie), Dillon (Allison), and Jesse. Grandchildren, Amber, Wynona, and Benjamin. His brother Ron (Wendy), and nephews Cameron, Troy, and David.
He was predeceased by his parents as well as his sister Ruth (Don) Wright.
Iain was trained as a B pressure iron worker welder and was very capable with his hands. He could equally fully dismantle and repair a motorcycle and then switch to creating beautiful artworks with leather making.
He spent many years travelling across Western Canada, living in Winnipeg, Calgary, and finally settling in Victoria. He loved exploring and connecting with people. Everyone knew him as a masterful story teller with the “gift of the gab.” Even though he had his struggles, he was always there for the underdog. A tough exterior with a heart of gold.
“Just get up and do, no matter how hard it is.”
The family would like to extend a heartfelt sense of gratitude to all the Tillicum staff for their kindness and empathy. Iain received the utmost level of care and has now finally found peace.
