It is with unspeakable grief that we announce the passing of Ian Brackenridge, our son, brother, uncle, friend, and our "Renaissance Man". Ian lived more in his 61 years then several of us combined. Although he began his journey with a BSC from U of Guelph, this was a small part of his education. He travelled the world over, spending years in other countries and had enough stories to make an adventure series! He was artistic, creative, capable, multi-skilled and fiercely autonomous. There wasn't a thing he couldn't fix, build or create. He was generous of heart and had so many amazing friends, several for 30 + years, who were at his side, in person or spirit, right until his end. He worshipped his animals and left us Jake to carry on his spirit. The Palliative Response Team stepped in and managed his symptoms granting Ian 2 more months of life that he shared with us intimately. We are so grateful to them and the doctors and homecare nurses who made this precious gift of time possible. Ian fought his long cancer battle with so much strength and courage until the very end. He ended his life, the same way he lived it, on his own terms. We are so proud of Ian, we miss him dearly and we love him forever. We are so very grateful for all of you who shared in Ian's life.
