Ida Gray

The Grande Dame of the Sooke Spit, Ida Gray, passed away on Dec. 29th at
92,  after a brief argument with a heart attack.
She is the beloved mum of Robert Gray, Marilyn McCorkindale, Carolyn
Gray (deceased), Granddaughter Jessica Rozon, Grandsons Todd Plessers
and Travis Gray and Cheyrl.
She leaves her beloved companion of over 20 years, Roy Steinke.
Born in England, my dad fought the "Battle of Bournemouth" and won Ida
Haydock as his prize and brought her home to Ontario.
They moved to Sooke 40 years ago and mum has loved her life by the sea,
She spent pretty much every day on the Sooke Spit and was happiest there
when not playing cards with Roy.
She will be much missed.
