Jackie was born in "God's Country" Ontario. She loved life, Canada, the Queen and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Jackie lived life BIG. With her husband of 37 years. They travelled Canada and the world visiting over 90 countries and all 7 continents. She was an amazing navigator and traveller. She loved her home in Victoria B.C. Canada most of all. She would say "It takes your breath away". She was a proud Canadian, wife mother, friend, activist, Ms., monarchist, sports fan, fisher and moreâ¦.
Her spirit and laughter filled a room and she made lifelong friends around the world. She was Mensa smart and had a wit and humor to match.
She was a proud BCGEU employee and manager in the Liquor stores as well as the local union chair and second vice of her component. She would say to her staff "We are not saving lives people we are just selling BOOZE so go out, work hard and have some fun".
Jackie would often say life is "Just so much FUN" and "We are so blessed". Accepting God in her life she never feared her death, she just worried she did not have enough time. In her last year she spent over 100 days at sea and two weeks before her death she declared "I think my flying days are over my friend, but maybe we can driver thru the Rockies and maybe Arizona again".
Cancer took her life but not her spirit. She was still planning job lists, parties and trips right up to the end. A week before her death she declared "Brace Yourself my friend this is not a Dress Rehearsal", and with that she started planning the rest of my life.
Cancer gave us almost four years to finish our travels, recap our lives and declare our love a thousand times.
"Do not go gently into the good night, Rage, Rage against the dying of the light".
Rest in peace Sweetie until we meet again.
