Lynn was born and raised in MooseJaw Saskatchewan. She was the youngest of 12, and proud of it.

Lynn left school early to test life out. She met a dashing man and got married in 1962.

Lynn's son was born later that same year and shared a birthday with his mom for 50 years.

Lynn and her family moved to Kamloops in 1966. Her two young children got to welcome another sibling in 1969. Lynn had many jobs throughout her life such as organizing and delivering the Kamloops News bundles to its carriers, delivering grocery orders to shut ins and scouring the town of Merritt for grocery carts to return to the store. During the Merritt years, Lynn discovered bowling and became a Master bowler in short order, winning many tournament and league trophies.

Despite a profound hearing loss, Lynn taught herself to play piano by ear and shared her love of music with her children. Encouraging their varied artistic talents.

Lynn was famous for making a mean pot of soup, and many people seemed to show up when the soup pot was bubbling. Lynn and her husband Jim worked as foster parents for a number of years, giving their love to teens who needed some. Fostering was a source of pride for Lynn. She is "Ma" to many, especially to Shawn!

Lynn's later years saw her getting her G.E.D

and then working with people who had brain injuries. A job she liked to share stories about for years to come.

Lynn and her husband Jim moved to Alberta in 2004. As a widow, in late 2019, Lynn moved to Sooke with her daughter and daughter in law. Physical limitations saw her looking to find an assisted living situation. Good fortune smiled on her when, during the pandemic, she was offered a suite at the Cridge. Her years at the Cridge saw Lynn participating in bingo, shopping adventures with her "motorcycle gang", and music nights. Lynn loved the happy hour sessions at the Cridge!

Throughout her life, Lynn shared a love of birds and flowers with her children, grandchildren and anyone who would listen.

J.Lynn Mathieson, a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Family was her joy!
