Jean Baskin

Jean, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years on December 18, 2021, in Victoria, BC. It was her belief that her transition was perfect and divine. Her family was blessed to be able to share their love and comfort her in her transition.

Jean grew up in Macdowall and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She married Leonard Baskin in Saskatoon and they raised a family of four children (Kevin, Lenore, Kerry, and Craig) in Saskatoon and Sherwood Park, Alberta. Len and Jean later retired to Victoria, BC. Her 48 years with Len were an amazing journey in a strong and loving relationship, growing together and as individuals.

Jean’s life journey continued after Len’s passing. She reconnected with an old friend from her days in Macdowall – Walter Adams. Walter became her loving companion, best friend, and dedicated care giver for the last years of her life. They developed many friendships, travelled, helped the local community, and kept active - sharing this special time of their lives side by side.

Jean was friendly, caring, loving, strong, helpful, kind, spiritual, positive, sociable and had a good sense of humour. She loved family gatherings, social activities, dressing stylishly, shopping. She loved nature, the ocean, beaches, camping, flowers, cooking, sewing, crafts. She especially loved teaching and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always smiling, learning, growing, making a difference, adapting to change, making friends, and experiencing the wonders of this life with a sparkle in her eye. She leaves a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives she enriched just by being herself.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 30 2022 at 2:30 PM at the St. Peter and St. Paul Anglican Church, 1379 Esquimalt Road.
