JEAN ELIZABETH (MACLEAN) KéDAR, 1939-2012 At home in Victoria after a brief illness, on the morning of September 26th. Daughter of the late Jack and Janie MacLean of Vancouver, British Columbia. Survived by Tiit, her husband of 47 years, children Freya (Ken) and Ed (Rose), siblings Marilyn, Bill (Gwen) and Joe MacLean, and Helmi and Hans Selde, Tiit's aunt and uncle. She was a devoted "Grandma Jean" to Marshall. A children's librarian who worked in Toronto and New York, she used her skills as a puppeteer and her wide knowledge of literature to entertain and instill the love of books in the children who came to her libraries. She was an inspired gift giver, and passed on a love of books, learning, music, food and art to her children and to her grandson. She and Tiit enjoyed theatre, travel, music, opera, reading, bird watching, hiking and the outdoors, and together created a beautiful home and garden in Victoria. At her request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your favorite arts organization.
