Jean Menzies

Jean Menzies Dec. 7 1940- Dec. 2 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Menzies in Victoria, BC. She was born on December 7, 1940 in Greenock Scotland and was the proud mother of Fraser (Kari) and Morag (Allan) and Grannie to Kaleigh and Cameron. Her grand-dogs were also very loved as she cared so much for animals.

Jean loved her home country of Scotland and brought her Scottish sensibilities wherever she lived, including Australia and many places in BC where she raised her family.

She had a strong faith and was always connected to a church in her life, particularly the Church of Scotland. She will be remembered as having a kind, giving and generous heart. One of her favorite things to do was to take her family out to share a meal and time together. She had a great sense of humour and loved to have a good laugh until the very end. She loved her family deeply and especially loved being a Grannie to her two ‘bonnie wee’ grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all of us.

Her life will be celebrated in a small, private gathering of her closest family members. The family is grateful for the staff at the Salvation Army Sunset Lodge for their care and support of her. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Salvation Army, Pastoral Care.
