Jean Noone, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home on January 10, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. She is lovingly remembered by her stepchildren, Marion Storr, Frances Noone, and David (Teresa) Noone, and their families; her siblings, Wes (Ruth) Reddekop, Gerald Reddekop, Phil (Carol) Reddekop, and Eunice (Dayton) Reimer, and their families; as well as her sister-in-law, Rosalie Noone.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, James Noone; her brother, Doug Reddekop; her sister, Faye Reddekop; her sisters-in-law, Doreen Reddekop, Helen Reddekop and Marion Noone; her brother-in-law, Rob Noone; and her parents, Jacob and Agatha Reddekop.
Jean Helen Reddekop was born on May 1, 1944, at home on the family farm near Parr View, Saskatchewan. In 1953, the family moved to a farm in southern Saskatchewan near Maryfield, followed by another move to southwestern Manitoba. Jean later attended Briercrest Bible Institute in Caronport, Saskatchewan. She then moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she worked and pursued further education, before relocating to Victoria, British Columbia, where she worked for BC Medical.
Jean met Jim Noone, and they were married for 30 years. She was a loving stepmother and step-grandma to Jim’s 3 children and 4 grandchildren, respectively. Jean made many trips back to Manitoba to visit family and friends, and she also enjoyed travelling with Jim and with friends. Jim passed away in 2009.
Jean was a believer in Jesus as her Saviour and was baptized at her home church, Central Baptist. Two of her favourite Bible passages were:
Psalm 91:1 — “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
John 14:6 — “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
Special thanks from the family to the Cancer Care staff at the Royal Jubilee Hospital and the Palliative Care staff. They have been such a help and comfort these last weeks, way beyond the call of duty.
The church family at Central Baptist was a wonderful source of support through prayers and visits. Jean faced her death with peace and the assurance of eternal life in Jesus.
The Celebration of Life service for Jean Noone will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Central Baptist Church, 833 Pandora Ave. Parking is available in the church parkade under the building.
