Johane Drapeau

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Johane Drapeau, who died peacefully on June 12, 2023 in Victoria, British Columbia. Born on May 12, 1955 in Charny, Quebec, Johane was the daughter of Léonard Drapeau and Huguette Blanchet. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Roger and Gaétan.

Johane was a beloved mother to Marjolaine (Barry) and grandmother to Madelaine, as well as her brother Yvan, many aunts and uncles, cousins, her niece Marlène and nephew Mathieu as well as many treasured friends. Her beloved feline companion was adopted by Madelaine and will be well cared for.

Johane was a strong and determined woman who was passionate about life and had a great sense of humour. She was a kind and generous soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was an avid traveler and loved the ocean, often spending her days at the beach.

Johane will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. In honour of Johane's wishes, her ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean she loved so dearly and no funeral service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Royal Jubilee Hospital or BC Transplant Society in acknowledgement of the thoughtful care she received.

Johane's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
