BOUDEWYN, Johannes W. F. (born August 21, 1935)
John passed away peacefully at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital on January 16, 2019. Left to cherish his memory, are his wife Myrna; sons Dave (Anne), Steve, Rick, Jim (Cathy), Jason (Rhonda) and daughter Marie; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and siblings, Piet (Barta), Steve (Deneka), Marian (Roland), Frank, Vita and Antonia (Randy).
Born in Rotterdam, Holland, John arrived in Canada in1954 along with his parents and eleven siblings. He was trained as a baker in his late teens in Holland, a profession he continued in Canada until 1969 when he joined BC Transit as a transit operator. He enjoyed driving buses and working with the public prior to retiring in 1995. John enjoyed his garden and his time in Parksville where he loved to spend time with his grandchildren beach combing for rocks to paint, walks with his dog Gizmo and socializing. John was very involved in the church, working in various outreach projects over the years.
A service will be held on February 13 at 2:00 pm at Church of Our Lord, 626 Blanshard Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Alzheimer's Society.
