John Ridehalgh Camps

John Ridehalgh Camps, beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully at Saanich Peninsula Hospital, British Columbia in the early hours of June 14, 2017, one month after celebrating his 91st birthday and meeting his five week old namesake.
John was beloved husband of Marietta for nearly 59 years; dear father of Tom and Nora; father-in-law to George and MaryAnn, grandfather of Nicholas, Alex, Justin and Dominique; brother to Tom and Dorothy[both deceased]and brother-in-law to Fred [deceased], Rudy [deceased], Paul, Nora [deceased]and uncle to Carl, Robert, Shelley and Peter, Karen and Ralph, Michael [deceased], Brian, Dennis, Gwen and David, Eric [deceased] and Adam, Elizabeth, Alison, Denise and Helen, Alice, John, Caroline, MaryAnn and Robert. He loved them all. John (or Jack to family and friends) had a terrific bear hug, a kind heart and a playful and adventurous spirit. He loved the ocean, he was a wonderful story teller, fixer of all things, seafood eater and friend.
At the end John was well cared for at the palliative unit at Saanich Peninsula Hospital,for which we are grateful. Cremation has taken place. There will be no service. in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation.
