John Richard Cook

April 6, 1946 — May 31, 2022

“John was born in Victoria BC to Helen and Jack Cook on April 6th, 1946.

He grew up living in the Saanich peninsula area around Keating on a farm.

Later on moving to the Oak Bay area with his parents in his early teens.

John had an industrious mind and a firm grasp of business and the

entrepreneurial spirit, from his time working with his father at Causeway

Service Esso station that was located in the inner harbour. To his various

other business ventures in and around the south island location.

John enjoyed fishing, traveling, long road trips, getting out on a farm and

having his famous dinner parties with family and friends.

He was a big fan of the NHL and you could often find him being his own color

commentator during the play off season. If you asked him his favorite hockey team

he would say that he bled blue and was the Toronto Maple Leafs through and through.

John was also involved with the support of the charity Mending on the Fly, where he

owned and operated an Eco outdoors lodge on the Miramichi River in New Brunswick

until he sold the business in 2021. There out on the east coast John made many friends

and spent time with a wonderful lady Sylvie Ducet over a 21 year period.

John Cook is survived by his eldest son Adam and younger son Ryan, as well as hi grandson

Alex Cook.

You will be missed Dad and remembered by all who knew you.”
