John Hughes

John passed peacefully at Hospice from Amyloidosis. He surpassed doctors expectations due to his strong heart and strong will to survive. Departed on his terms supported by his loving family, wife Terry and children Jason (Sheri), Lisa (Evan), Tyler and Jordan (Nicole). His grandchildren will miss him dearly and will talk to him as they need. John was born a 4th generation son survived by a wonderful mother Lillian and older sister Doreen. He was employed with Saanich for 30 years to retire early as he could enjoy his love for golf. You could always find John at Hampton Park on the soccer field as a proud member of Gorge Soccer Association. He thoroughly enjoyed his role on the Disciplinary Board many a referee will miss his constructive criticism. John loved many and was loved by many. A celebration of life will be at the Gorge Club House at Hampton Park and has been arranged for April 27, 2013 at 4:00pm (a big party as John would say). Donations accepted to the Tyler/Jordie Goal Fund as the tradition must go on. Real donations will be gratefully accepted to Victoria Hospice.
