John O'Neill

Born November 19, 1940 in Victoria, B.C. John Edwin ONeill died February 20, 2015 at Victoria General Hospice in Victoria, BC. This gentle soul, a good man, with friends everywhere he ever lived or visited, (mostly Vancouver Island, but also in Ireland, Europe and eastern Canada) will be greatly missed. His warm smile for everyone, his commitment to kindness, his joy in living, his amazement and wonder of everything around him, are just a few of the gifts he gave us all. Home schooled initially and then largely self-taught, he developed an amazing diverse collection of knowledge. Nothing was trivial to John! He has left behind Laurie Holiday and her son, Coleman, siblings Marie, Michael, Theresa & Thomas, as well as many dear friends. He made the world a better place for being here. A celebration for John will be held at the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, 1975 Bee Street, Victoria, BC. from 6 pm to 10 pm, Friday March 20, 2015. Come and share all those lovely memories with us.
