Kenneth Einarson

It is with great sadness to announce the death of our loving father, Ken. Ken passed away suddenly in his Victoria home where he resided for much of his later life. Ken is predeceased by his father and mother, Lew and Emm Einarson and is survived by his 2 daughters, Deborah and Cheryl Einarson and 5 grandchildren: Kristiana (MathewGagnon), James (Janet) and Clayton McQuarrie, Brianna McCargar and Chantelle Nugent; as well as 3 great grandchildren: Jesse and Maddison Gagnon and Jack McQuarrie. Ken is also survived by his 2brothers: identical twin Cliff, Ralph and sister Valerie(DonDaigle) and by his beloved nieces and nephews. Ken was born in Campbell River and spent his early years in Oyster Bay until his mother and father acquired an acreage on the corner of Hilchey and Penfield Rd in Willow Point where they built a house and had a small farm across from Willow Point Park on Meadowbrooke Rd. As a teenager, Ken and his brothers Cliff and Ralph worked very hard to help their parents clear underbrush to make way for their small farm, which they also worked hard to maintain. As well as working physically hard, Ken was also a skilled hunter and a gifted artist. For two consecutive years, between the ages of 15 and 16 Ken won scholarships to attend the summer school of arts andcrafts at the University of British Columbia. As a young adult, Ken workedin the logging industry and the Elk Falls Mill where he was the local president of the P.P.W.C. Ken was extremely intelligent and in his later years he developed a great passion for writing and spent many hours a day at his typewriter. Ken was akind-spirited man and a very quiet and private person. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Aprivate service will be held in memory of Ken at a later date.
