Kenneth Rainsberry

d. March 25, 2012

On Sunday morning, March 25, 2012, surrounded by his wife and family, Ken went home to his heavenly Father. His determination, strength and sheer love of life served as an inspiration to all those who knew and loved him. Ken obtained a B.Sc. in Engineering at the University of Alberta and spoke proudly of his time spent at the University of California (Berkeley) where he completed his M.Sc. in Engineering. He worked as a Civil Engineer for the City of Calgary, his hometown, and then the District of Saanich when the family moved to Victoria, B.C. His true love and joy came from his years spent raising his three children, Shanley, Christopher and Matthew along with his wife Myrna - building memories with them in their daily life and enjoying family vacations. He was later blessed with the growth of the family as it expanded with respective partners to his children and five grandchildren. All of these additions were blessed with lessons learned from, and time shared with Grandpa Ken. While he is reunited with family and friends who went before him, his memory will be cherished and celebrated by Myrna, Shanley (Steve), Christopher (Kathleen, Chris Jr., Mika and Magnus), Matthew (Natasha, Martino and Helena), his sister Beverley High (Dallas) and extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers and to honour Ken please engage in a random act of kindness to a friend or help someone you meet who needs a hand up in order to make a difference in this world. A celebration of life for Ken will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012, at 2:00 PM at First Metropolitan United Church, 932 Balmoral Road, Victoria BC V8T 1A8. Reception to follow.
