With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kim Ross Brown on April 14, 2015, who passed in his home in Victoria, B.C. from natural causes. He was 65 years old. Kim leaves behind him his granddaughter Emmanuel , and his two children Kyla and Nathan; his sister Alissa, his brother in law Peter, his niece, and nephew, Kaylie and Cameron and many more family relations and acquaintances. He is predeceased by his parents Thornton and Alison Brown. Kim also leaves behind many good friends both in Victoria and in London Ontario who mourn his passing greatly. Kim was born in Toronto Canada on August 19 1950. As a young man he traveled across parts of Europe and Greece, meeting the mother of his two children, Philippa in London, England. He often had a happy smile to share or a funny story that could lighten up a person's spirit if they were ailing; or be laughing in joy with them at something humorous in the next. Kim was always willing to offer a helping hand to those in need. Kim's family was everything to him and he poured his love out to his children and grandchild. Kim admired beauty in forms of art, whether in painting, sculpture, carpentry or architecture. He liked to collect and listen to music, and enjoyed watching t.v shows and films. Kim was an avid green thumb, loving to see plants sprout and grow, and flowers were often found around him. He loved the outdoors and spent time discovering parks and natural spots that he liked to frequent and hike within. He loved the ocean as well as rivers and lakes and knew how to sail, owning different sail boats and row boats in his life. Kim was a great cook, and, he would amaze friends and family with his culinary talents in the kitchen at the stove or outside on the barbeque. Kim worked for many years as a home Interior decorator, specializing in blinds and window coverings working for different companies, or was independently self-employed. Kim had moved out west to Victoria from London Ontario in 2008 to be close to and help and raise Kyla's daughter his granddaughter Emma whom he loved very much. He will be sadly missed by all the hearts that he touched at this time of his passing; his legacy continuing in memory to bring a happy smile at the remembrance of his caring and gentle ways that his life brought to many. A ceremony to honor his memory will take place at Royal Oak Burial Park and Chapel at 4673 Falaise Drive, Victoria B.C. on Thursday, April 23 2015 at 1:30 pm, attended by friends and family.
